We proudly present you with our 'Orléans' model. This is an imposing although very classical model of architectural, decorative and structural column; it is produced in cast aluminum for the end-parts, and in extruded aluminium for the shaft.
It can be cut to size if necessary. It will find its place in many types of environments and architectures. It is very appropriate for verandas, pergolas, porches, terraces, gazebos, canopies... but it is also well suited for interior decoration or renovation purposes. It will also find its place in a contemporary loft, or as a support for a mezzanine or a loggia. An authentic model of traditional cast column.
Please keep also in mind that our columns are nearly as load-bearing as ancient columns in cast iron or steel, thanks to the wall-thicknesses of their shafts.
Orléans is a charming (and historically strategic) town on the Loire, where Joan of Arc lived and battled against the English Plantagenets who were occupying this part of France during the Hundred Year's War. Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known under the name of Molière, also lived and studied in Orléans. It is there that we found our inspiration for this well-balanced model of decorative column.
The elements of our column system are all cast in our traditional aluminium foundry in Belgium; we still use the very ancient traditional sand-casting method.
