Pont-Aven is a charming small harbour city in the Southern part of the French Brittany. It has been the residence of numerous artists, including Gauguin, Henry Bacon, Roderic O'Connor, Paul Sérusier, Meyer de Haan... because of its picturesque views and landscapes, but perhaps also because the cost of living there was extremely low at that time, in comparison with Paris
Our 'Pont-Aven' model of decorative column (in diameter 100 mm) : a sturdy but elegant and ornamental column in cast and extruded aluminium. This design has been created to give weight and presence to this beautiful architectural column (or pillar) when placed in an already charged architectural environment.
It is ideal for porches, balconies, verandas and pergolas, canopies, arcades, terraces but also very appropriate for any indoor decoration, reclamation or renovation works. Please note that our shafts in extruded aluminium are nearly as tough as shafts in cast iron (we keep the figures at your disposition). This column can be delivered at your measures, up to an heigth of 3.5 meters. Should you want to go higher, we recommand you to use our XXL base of 1.033 mm height, instead of the one on the picture which has an height of 655 mm.
We produce the cast elements of this column in our foundry in Belgium; we cast aluminium parts in sand since 60 years, using the very ancient ant traditional sand-casting method. We therefore use 'green-sand', which is indefinitely recyclable.
Weight for a height of 2.5 m: 19,3 Kg
Parts: Tulip, Square Royal B, 2 rings Architect, smooth shaft
