Our 'Vendôme' decorative columns (or pillar) was inspired by the style and elegance of the world-famous "place Vendôme", a lavish and posh place at the centre of Paris. A structural but also ornamental model, elegant, discrete and well-balanced with its nicely fluted shaft and cast base, and a modest cast capital.

This architectural and decorative model of column is very appropriate for arcades, such as can be found around the Vendôme place, but fits also very well in pergolas, terraces, canopies, porches, balconies and verandas. It is ornamental and architectural at the same time with its nice castings: cast aluminium at is best, for all exterior or interior purposes.

The place Vendôme, in the 1st "arrondissement" of Paris, is probably the most luxurious place in the world. All the great names of the french and international jewellery are present in a very homogeneous architecture that has remained unchanged since centuries. Chaumet, Boucheron, Patek-Philippe, Audemars-Piguet, Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget ...  you will find all these prestigious brands there or in the neighbouring streets. Note that this district is also the one which has the highest rate of heists in France...

At its centre stands the "Vendôme" column (44 m high!), erected by Napoleon after his victory at Austerlitz, where he defeated the Austro-Russian coalition. This column, inspired from the 'Trajan' column in Rome, was partly cast with cannons seized from the Austrian and Russian armies.

Our 'Vendôme' column is entirely made of cast and extruded elements produced in our aluminium sand-casting foundry located in Belgium. The excellencee of the classical European style.
