Our 'Antibes' model: A thin, elegant and sober model of decorative columns (or 'pillar'), with a great homogeneity in its traditional and classic design, combining antique and contemporary cast elements. It is both decorative, structural and ornamental. One can easily imagine such refined 'legacy' cast decorative columns on the terraces or pergolas or even verandas of small and elegant towns of the French Riviera, such as Antibes. It will also be quite appropriate for canopies, arcades or for the decoration of contemporary lofts. It will fit very well in your interior decoration or renovation projects: loggias, mezzanines, and so on....
We recommend to use it for heights not exceeding 2.5 meters, and for loads not exceeding 5.2 metric tons. This column is shot-blasted before leaving our factory; thanks to that, it is really splendid after having been powder-coated. No one will be able to see the difference with an old cast-iron column.
The town of Antibes, located in the Alpes-Maritimes department of south-eastern France, is a nice and quiet (and perhaps somewhat snobbish...) seaside resort, with many luxurious but discrete villas, and beautiful landscapes. Picasso lived and worked in the 'Chateau Grimaldi' of Antibes for many years. Antibes has also the largest marina in Europe, Port Vauban: it can accomodate 1.230 ships on a total surface of 32 hectares (79 acres).
Many known people stayed for a while in the 'Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc' in Antibes: Winston Churchill, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Marlene Dietrich, Liz Taylor... Antibes is home to the world famous "Jazz à Juan" festival in July each year ('Juan-Les-Pins' is a district of Antibes).
Our 'Antibes' model is entirely composed of cast and extruded aluminium elements, all of which are produced in Belgium, in our own traditional sand-casting foundry.
