The 'Place de la Concorde', in the 1st arrondissement, is the largest place of Paris with its 8.7 hectares (22 acres). It is located between the eastern end of the Champs-Elysées and the "Jardins des Tuileries". At its North, you see two magnificent buildings in the Louis XV style, one of which is now the world-famous 'Hotel de Crillon'.
You can also not miss the beautiful obelisk erected at the centre of the place; originating from the temple of Louxor (Egypt), it was given to France by the Egyptian government in 1829. It was erected in 1836 where previously stood a "guillotine" since the French revolution; its height is 23 m and it weights +/- 250 metric tons.
Our 'Concorde' model of decorative columns is inspired by some features of the architecture of this famous place. It is a cast architectural and ornamental column, particularly slim and elegant. It has style and nice proportions, but it is also a decorative and structural column, with a very discrete but stylish capital in cast aluminium, very appropriate for all architectural environments that are already somewhat "charged".
It will fit nicely in well-proportionated verandas, porches, orangeries, conservatories, terraces, pergolas, gazebos, canopies ... It can also be used in the interrior of the house for decorative purposes, or as an ornamental element in contemporary lofts. We will cut it to your measures if need be. This model can bear an axial load of 5.2 metric ton for a height of 2.5 meters, thanks to the thick walls of its extruded aluminium shaft.
All the cast components of this column are all manufactured in our own traditional sand-casting aluminum foundry located in Belgium. It has been incorporated some 60 years ago. Our work is an alliance of tradition and quality. Our columns represent the quintessence of the classical European style.
