Here is our 'Louvre' model of architectural and decorative columns. It is nicely proportionated, aesthetically homogeneous, sleek and elegant but it is also a structural column (in a height of 2.5 meters: it can bear a load of up to 4.9 tons).
A nicely fluted shaft with two discrete assorted aluminium castings as end-parts. This column will be adequate for all outdoor purposes: verandas, pergolas, terraces, porches, patios, gazebos... but it is also well suited for any indoor renovation or interior decoration projects. This ornamental and decorative model is also very adapted for mezzanines and loggias. It is also convenient for structuring the spaces in contemporary lofts.
The Louvre museum in the 1st arrondissement of Paris is the largest museum in the world with its 60.000 square meters of exhibition surface. It is also the most visited, with 8 million visitors per year. You will find there many antique columns, quite similar to our models. It is home to the famous and enigmatic 'Mona Lisa' painting of Leonardo da Vinci.
The secrets of this painting have never been entirely discovered: who was 'Mona Lisa'? Why is her smile so bizzare? Is she really a woman? How did Leonardo da Vinci obtain his renowned 'sfumato' effect?
All the cast elements of this decorative and structural column are manufactured in our own aluminium foundry in Belgium. We work with the ancient and traditional 'sand-casting' technique; this is rather time-consuming and thus expensive, but it is a guarantee of quality.
