Originally a small village around the charming 'Abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés', the Parisian district of 'Saint-Germain-des- Prés' is located in the 6th "arrondissement". It is home since the 17th century to all what counts in the Parisian intellectual and cultural circles. It is there that you can encounter the Parisian 'intelligentsia'. It is also from there that the "Encyclopédistes" started to spread their influence in Europe.
Later on, Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir founded the 'Existentialiste' movement in this district. Numerous artists like Giacometti, Prévert, Juliette Greco, Django Reinhardt... lived in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
You can find in this area some of the finest typical Parisian brasseries such as "Les Deux Magots" (where J-P Sartre used to work), le "Café de Flore", "la Coupole" and the world famous "Brasserie Lipp" (their "Choucroute Royale" is an absolute must!).
All the parts you can see in our catalogue, and thus all the components of our system of decorative columns, are cast or extruded in our aluminium foundry in Belgium using the very traditional sand-casting process.
